Functions of Art — Second Annual Exhibition

After six months of preparation, Us Gallery Contemporary is proud to present the second annual exhibition, Functions of Art.

This year’s theme explores how artists assign new, hidden, or unexpected functions to their work—functions that go beyond the visual. Through diverse expressions, artists shift our aesthetic perceptions and invite us to consider the many ways art lives within and around us.

We received over 200 submissions from artists around the world and are honored to showcase 40+ selected works in this special exhibition. Unlike last year, the exhibition is thoughtfully organized into three categories across two 3D virtual gallery spaces:

  • Gallery I: Fine Art

  • Gallery II: Design and Illustration

  • Gallery III: Film and Photography

Art functions differently for everyone. It can offer healing, express identity, mark memory, or document our surroundings. It can provoke thought, spark joy, or simply create space for reflection. Regardless of form or intention, art is deeply connected to our everyday lives. It is not distant or inaccessible—it is a language built from materials, skill, and emotion.

At Us Gallery Contemporary, we believe in showcasing how artists use this language to build bridges with viewers—sharing their worlds, questions, and hopes. This year’s exhibition celebrates the many interpretations of art’s function, as told by emerging voices from across the globe.

Thank you for supporting Us, and we hope this exhibition inspires new ways of seeing, feeling, and connecting.
