About Us [ɅS]:
Us [ʌs] is a non-profit exhibition and experimentation platform focused primarily on sculpture and installation, operating between Chicago and Toronto, yet expanding, led by Vivi Niya Gao (b.2002).
At Us [ʌs], we began working with artist friends as early as 2019, when they were 15 years old. As an experimental platform, we witness their evolution, creative transformations, and histories in making, shaping Us [ʌs] into one of the most distinctive platforms of our time, driven by Generation Z.
Us [ʌs] encourages emerging artists to communicate, collaborate, and experiment, transcending traditional exhibition models. We foster a community where artists can freely pursue their passions without limitations.
Us [ʌs] is made up of artists, designers, risk-takers, listeners, curious minds, and supporters. Unlike a traditional gallery with a fixed location, we create dynamic and adaptable spaces that allow artwork to expand its field of influence—connecting with the body, time, objects, and site.
At Us [ʌs], we aim to cultivate a new generation of art collectors while actively promoting and supporting emerging artists. Through our Collector Subscription Program, we create a direct connection between artists and collectors, fostering long-term appreciation and investment in contemporary art.
Beyond exhibitions, Us [ʌs] develops immersive programs to deepen artistic engagement. Our upcoming initiative, Us [ʌs] Residency, will take place across the USA, Canada, and China, fostering cross-cultural exchange between artists and curators while creating new opportunities for dialogue and collaboration.
